Mathilda Kates Birth Story!

A WHOLE week late!!!!!!! I was getting SO impatient to meet my little one and find out if baby would be a girl or a boy. I was guessing a boy but I was wrong and absolutely thrilled to have little Mathilda!
So enjoying having a doll to dress up again.:)

With false labor off and on for the last three weeks and being 3 cm dilated for a week. I was definitely ready for her to come. On my 41 week mark (March 29th) Renee’ (midwife) decided to try to get things going. So all day we did natural things and FINALLY real labor kicked in!!!!!! YAY!!! Renee’ broke my waters at 7CM around 9PM. After 7 (total) hours of labor Mathilda was born in the birth pool at home with a candle lit room and calm music. My first water birth!!! About 10 minutes before I told Nathaniel she probably wouldn’t make it on the 29th because it’s almost midnight, but I was wrong. :) (Kathryn our oldest was born on the 29th so it makes it easy to remember birthdays) Contractions were so irregular and spaced I thought I had a long time to go but thankfully I was wrong. :)
Nathaniel caught her and handed her to me where she just laid sweetly on my chest wondering what just happened. And I just cried a huge relief of happiness and that we had no complications.
Her app gar score was 10. Thanking the Lord for such a beautiful healthy baby and an uncomplicated home birth.
